Dr. Walker Speaks on Illegal Procedures
Maryland Woman Dies After Recieving Illegal Injections
Kelly Mayhew passed away Saturday, May 30, 2015 after receiving a buttocks enlargement procedure from an unlicensed plastic surgeon. She was found unresponsive in a home in Queens, New York.
The alleged surgeon had injected FDA unapproved liquid silicone into Mayhew's buttocks as a part of an "at-home" procedure.
Just after the injections, Mayhew began having difficulty breathing. Her mother, who was present for the procedure, performed CPR while the "surgeon" fled the scene.
EMS arrived around 6:45 pm and brought Mayhew to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead.

2012 Washingtonian Top Doctors
Dr. Walker has been selected by her peers as one of Washington's Top Doctors. Every two years, the Washingtonian polls thousands of local medical leaders to compile its comprehensive list of the region’s top doctors. This year’s list will be published in the March 2012 issue of the magazine.
As in past years, the Washingtonian polled more than 7,000 randomly selected area physicians to ask them what doctors they would send members of their own families to in more than three dozen medical specialties. They poured over the responses and those doctors who had the most votes from their peers made the 2012 list. Making the list is an honor and one of the premier recognitions of a medical practice in the region.
The Top Doctors issue is not just a best-selling issue on newsstands but also the back issue most requested by Washingtonian readers and subscribers – a true indicator of medical excellence and testimony to skill and reputation.
Dr. Walker is very happy to join the list and thanks all those who voted for her.

National Cathedral School Student Interns with Dr. Walker
From - My Summer of Science: NCS Students Use Their Summer Vacations as a Time of Discovery in National Cathedral School Fall 2011
Camila Folger '12 interned this summer at the Washington, DC, plastic surgery practice of NCS parent Dr. Rondi Walker (mother of Kathleen Barkats '13). Camilla said she quickly learned that plastic surgery is a lot more than stereotypical cosmetic procedures.
"I didn't realize that plastic surgery was so broad a subject. I really like the balance that plastic surgery has, because it's not really cosmetic. There's a lot of reconstruction and creativity that goes into it. Dr. Walker's really an artist," Camilla said.
Camilla applied for the internship based on her interest in anatomy and medicine, and she was lucky enough to be able to observe several surgical procedures. For her, two of the most memorable were a breast reduction and reconstruction of an entire lower lip after the removal of cancerous legions. Dr. Walker would walk through everything she'd done either during or after the surgery. Through office work, Camilla also had the opportunity to learn about the complex healthcare system and how doctors work with insurance companies.
